Instructional Classes

All instructional classes meet at Rosenwald  community center, unless stated otherwise.  Preregistration required for all classes.

Parks and Recreation will be transitioning to an online registration system for all of the programs we offer. Beginning May 1, you may begin to see a links to register or view a catalog. The first time you register in this new system you will be required to set up an account. 
You will be able to sign into your account using your email address and a password or by using your existing Facebook or Google account. It is fast and easy.

The account will allow you to store your information as well as that of your other family members. This will allow you to easily sign up anyone in your family for the programs they desire with a click of a button. You will also be able to go into your account and verify the classes and times you selected and get instant access to your receipts. If you have any questions about the process please feel free to call us. We can help walk you through it. 
Fit for Life

Stretch and Tone
Though geared toward seniors, anyone can benefit from this morning exercise program which provides a good opportunity for toning up problem areas as well as a chance to meet new friends.  Rubber bands and mats are furnished for your convenience. Instructor: Ann Hutchens

Fit For Life

There's no better time than the present to GET FIT FOR LIFE! This class can help you on your way by burning fat and relieving stress, while doing hi / low impact aerobics to up-beat music. Instructor: Penny Gilbert

Stress Reduction Meditation and Yoga

(ages 12 – 90)
Start your day with fresh air and a walk in the park!  Then join a relaxing class of gentle yoga, stretching, movement and breathing meditations to music.  Relax and energize for the entire day.  Easy, fun, and just right for both beginners and advanced.  Be active and feel good all summer!
Facilitated by Prem Geet with 25 years of experience in relaxation techniques, yoga, meditation movement, deep breathing forms and transformational group processes.


Tai Chi for Beginners

The study of the Yang style 6-form, the beginning set in the study of Yang Tai Chi. It is designed to increase energy and encourage focused concentration, leading to a sense of calm and well-being. Instructor: Linda Smoke, Certified Instructor in Tai Chi for Diabetes and Tai Chi for Arthritis

Ballroom Dance Classes

 These classes will give you confidence, grace, and lots of enjoyment as you head out to the dance floor.  Learn (or brush up on) popular dances such as: the Foxtrot, Swing, Waltz, Cha-Cha and the Rumba.  Experienced instructor, Donald Dollins, will be offering two different level classes… one for beginners and another for intermediate dancers.   These are ongoing classes, and will continue as long as there is interest.
