These programs ensure that victims and witnesses of crime receive fair and considerate treatment while participating in the criminal justice system. The program can offer assistance in the following areas: providing information on an individual's role as a witness; explaining court procedures; escorting witnesses or victims to court; providing information on crime-related threats or harassment; referring to community service agencies for counseling or other assistance; assisting in preparation of a victim compensation form; and offering information for individuals not receiving their restitution. The program also offers support when victims and witnesses need to talk about their cases.

Provides alternatives for offenders willing to try to change their lives to stay out of jail. Blue Ridge staff makes bond recommendations to the court and monitors court appearances. If an offender has a substance abuse problem or emotional difficulties requiring treatment, the staff directs the offender to the proper treatment agency and monitors progress.

Covers court systems in Augusta and Highland counties and Waynesboro and Staunton cities. For the victim, the staff collects restitution, and ensures the victim is not forgotten by the criminal justice system.
