It is the City of Waynesboro Fire Prevention & Safety Division’s mission to reduce the factors which contribute to the cause of fire, and protect lives and property. In work towards providing a fire safe environment, the Waynesboro Fire Prevention Division offers a variety of programs. The Fire & Life Safety Division offers many programs that range from school programs, public education, station tours, and home inspections. The Inspections Division is mainly directed towards the prevention of fire and other safety risks at businesses, offering on- line permit applications, inspection request, and on site inspections.
After The Fire
Decorating homes and businesses is a long-standing tradition around the holiday season. Unfortunately, these same decorations may increase your chances of fire. Based on data from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), an estimated 250 home fires involving Christmas trees and another 170 home fires involving holiday lights and other decorative lighting occur each year.
