The Fire Inspections Division is a group of dedicated individuals certified by the State of Virginia to perform such duties under the City of Waynesboro Fire Official, Chief Charles F. Scott. It is the goal of this division to implement a program that focuses on working with business owners in the City of Waynesboro to identify and mitigate any fire and safety risks thru regular inspections.

Fire Inspections Program

The current policy of the City of Waynesboro Fire Inspection Program  is to perform inspections upon  requests, complaints, and mandated annuals. Although current policy is in affect this does not exempt any business from following local and national codes, or does current policy exempt any business from random inspections. It is the intent of this program to focus and work with business owners in an attempt to identify and mitigate any and all possible fire and safety hazards. Fire Code Permits

Fire Code Permits grant permission to maintain, store or handle materials or to conduct processes or activities, which produce conditions, which if not properly maintained are hazardous to life and property.
