Central Shenandoah Valley Office on Youth:  Family Services Division

 Responsible for the implementation of teen pregnancy prevention education and family services programming.  Candidate must possess strong public-speaking skills in both community and classroom settings and be able to relate well with youth of varying age, ability, and background.  The Program Assistant must be comfortable teaching sensitive area curriculum to youth and/or parents.  Candidate should possess knowledge of educational techniques and community systems.  Ideal candidate will have an understanding of current public health issues; particularly as they relate to youth and young adults and be aware of consequences associated with risky behaviors.  Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and quick-thinking skills are required.  Education requirements include a high school diploma/GED and some experience in the delivery of youth-oriented programming.  Valid Virginia Driver's License, criminal background check, and drug screen required.  Position is expected to work 8-10 hours/week and pay is $10.00/hour.
