Newcomer's Guide
Welcome to Waynesboro
Nestled snugly at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the community of Waynesboro is sure to earn a special place in your heart. Named in 1797 after Revolutionary War hero Mad Anthony Wayne, this picturesque city has retained the charm of the Valley while embracing modern progress.

Visitors are pleased to discover an abundance of shopping and dining alternatives.  Take a stroll down Main Street and enjoy all of the renovated shops and eateries.  The arts have a strong presence here.  Find the perfect addition to the home at the P. Buckley Moss Museum, or the Shenandoah Valley Art Center.

Waynesboro is also known for its strong sense of family and community. The annual Fall Foliage Festival in early October draws hundreds of artists and craftsmen from across the nation. Those interested in history won't want to miss the annual commemoration the Civil War Battle of Waynesboro. This 1865 engagement between Generals Jubal Early and Philip Sheridan helped close the book on the Old South.

Surrounded by beautiful Augusta County, Waynesboro's small town charm and friendly folk make it one place you can easily fall in love with.
