The Waynesboro Police Department will maintain a volunteer auxiliary police unit called the Waynesboro Police Reserve Unit. The Reserve Unit will operate as a function of the police department and will be supervised by the police department. The Reserve Unit is to provide the Department with capable and dependable Reserve Officers to assist with police duties in times of need. The Waynesboro Police Reserve Unit is an organization comprised of men and women volunteers. The Reserve Unit will have its own organizational structure and chain of command.
Regardless of rank, the Reserve Officer will be subordinate to any regular officer of police department in all law enforcement matters.
Application to the Waynesboro Police Reserves will be made by submitting an Application For Employment to the Human Resource Office. The application and all supporting documents,
including the Authorization For Release Of Information form, must be completely and correctly filled out. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate before being considered,
have not been convicted of a felony or certain types of misdemeanors, and must be eligible to carry a firearm.
Reserves Application Packet
Chief Reo Hatfield is the Operations Commander of the Reserve Unit. Reo has been with the Reserves since 1990 and has volunteered over 3,000 hours. He oversees the operations of the Reserve Unit and is the chairman of the Reserves Advisory Board.

Deputy Chief Rod Campbell is second in command of the Reserve Unit and on the Reserves Advisory Board. Rod has been with the Reserves since 1991 and has volunteered over 3,000 hours. As Deputy Chief, he assists the Chief in overseeing all aspects of the Reserve Unit.
Major Bud Levin has been with the Reserves since 1976 and has volunteered over 10,000 hours. He is a past Reserve Unit Commander. Bud works very closely with the administration of the police department as part of the planning and policies functions. He spends a fair amount of time researching, preparing, and presenting information pertaining to law enforcement. He is associated with the FBI Academy in Quantico VA and has a number of contacts throughout the law enforcement community.
Colonel Ron Quick is with the Administrative Division of the Reserve’s. Ron has been with the Reserve Organization since 1981 and has volunteered over 9,000 hours. Ron retired as Unit Commander in March 2011. He is a member of the Reserves Advisory Board and works closely with the Support Services Division of the Police Department.
Captain Kevin Quick is one of the Shift Commanders of the Reserve Unit. Kevin has been with the Reserves since 1990 and has volunteered over 2,000 hours. As a Shift Commander, Kevin is responsible for Reserve Officers assigned to his shift. Kevin is the son of Colonel Ron Quick of the Reserves.

Captain Corey Fox is one of the Shift Commanders of the Reserve Unit. Corey has been with the Reserves since 1994 and has volunteered over 6,000 hours. As a Shift Commander, Corey is responsible for Reserve Officers assigned to his shift. Corey’s father, Sergeant Al Fox, was also a Reserve serving from 1976 until 1999.
