Frequently Asked Questions
How can I reserve a park pavilion (shelter) or the amphitheatre?

City of Waynesboro, Department of Parks and Recreation picnic shelters and/or amphitheatre are available on a first come first served basis free of charge.

Reservations for picnic shelters may be taken after January 1 of the year of requested use.   Shelters can not be reserved for use prior to April 1st of any given year, as restrooms will not be opened prior to that time.   The restrooms at Ridgeview Park adjacent to the pool’s filter building are open year round except in extreme cold weather conditions.   Anyone wishing to use the picnic shelters after October 31 or before April 1 may do so free of charge.  We do not reserve picnic shelters during that time.

City of Waynesboro, Department of Parks and Recreation picnic shelters may be reserved for $40 before 2PM and/or $40 after 2PM.  Permits will be issued to those groups or individuals that do reserve the shelters.  (SEE “FORMS” FOR RULES AND REGULATIONS IN THE ‘SAMPLE’ PERMIT DOCUMENT) 


Can I reserve a room and/or the gym at Rosenwald Community Center?

Rooms within the Rosenwald Community Center are available for reservation free of charge to community non-profit organizations during normal business hours IF those rooms are not scheduled for other activities.  For-profit businesses will be charged for use.  During times when the building would otherwise be closed, the fee schedule will apply to all organizations and individuals.  (The exception would be for organizations whose programs are co-sponsored by the Waynesboro Department of Parks and Recreation)  A “Rosenwald Facility Request” needs to be completed and approved by a Parks and Recreation Staff.  

          Gym Rental:          $20.00 per hour
          Room Rental:        $20.00 per hour

What are the open gym hours?

          Open gym is available as follows:

                   Monday through Thursday          3PM to 8PM
                   (please note these hours are subject to change)


What are the office hours for the Waynesboro Department of Parks and Recreation?

            Monday through Friday          8am – 5pm


Directions to Rosenwald Community Center (Waynesboro Department of Parks and Recreation):

Traveling on I-64 – Take the Waynesboro-Stuarts Draft Exit #94).  Turn right on Rosser Avenue (Route 340.)  Stay on Rosser Avenue to the traffic light at the intersection at Main Street.  Go straight through this light.  You will be on Broad Street.  Stay on Broad Street until you come to the second traffic light.  Turn left on Wayne Avenue.  At the stop sign turn left on Ohio Street.  Ohio turns into Florence Avenue.  Stay on Florence, and turn right at the 3rd street on your right, which is Fontaine Street.  You will see our building on the left.  It’s a large, two story, red brick building.
