Maymont Flower & Garden Show

Enjoy two great shows in the same trip!  We will be traveling by van to the Richmond Convention Center for the largest home & garden show in central Virginia.  The Richmond Home Show will feature remodeling solutions, landscaping ideas, interior design trends, furnishings and how to make your home more environmentally friendly.  At the Maymont Flower & Garden Show you will have the opportunity to explore the latest in horticulture, gardens, seminars and a marketplace filled with goodies that will have you dreaming of spring. Registration Deadline: Tuesday, February 7th

Disney’s The Lion King Musical

Experience the phenomenon of the Tony award winning Broadway sensation. Giraffes strut, birds swoop, gazelles leap. The entire savannah comes to life and as the music soars, Pride Rock slowly emerges from the mist. Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands and an unforgettable score including Elton John and Tim Rice’s Oscar-winning song “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and “Circle of Life.” Fee includes van transportation and admission ticket. Registration Deadline: Friday, February 24th.

Spring Trip To Richmond

Plan on spending the day in Richmond enjoying the beginning of spring.  There will be two stops on this trip. The first will be at Maymont, where you will have the chance to walk the estate and enjoy the beautiful gardens beginning to come to life after the long winter. The second will be at the Spring Bizarre Bazaar an optimal shopping experience for all – Think Spring! – unique gifts for Easter, graduation, birthdays, bridal and baby showers. Fee includes van transportation and admission ticket. Registration deadline: Friday, March 23rd.

Cherry Blossom Festival / National Zoo Day Trip
Bring the whole family and enjoy the sights and sounds of Washington DC in the Spring. You decide where you want the bus to drop you off... Choose between the Mall area, where the family can enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival, the Smithsonian, several monuments, the Capital, or the Tidal Basin (all within walking distance). Or... you can get off at the National Zoo stop, where you can spend the day observing 100's of different kinds of animals. The fee includes transportation only (neither the Smithsonian or Zoo charge admission.)

  • Time: Leave Rosenwald at 7am/ return at 8:00pm

Please note all participants of the following outdoor adventure trips will need to wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and close toed shoes. Also pack a backpack with a bag lunch (that doesn’t need to be refrigerated) and two (20 to 32 oz.) drinks in plastic screw top bottles.
Dobie Mountain Hike
Come enjoy one of the lesser known hikes that is right in our own backyard. It shares a parking area with Humpback Rocks! This 4 mile loop trail is a moderate hike, with elevation gains of approximately 1000 feet.  The highlights include some great views of our own Rockfish Valley and an old plane wreckage.  Registration Deadline: Friday, February 10th. Fortune’s Cove Hike

Come spend the day with us exploring Fortune’s Cove Preserve, nestled in the eastern foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This 5.5 mile loop trail is a moderately difficult hike, with an elevation gain of 1500 feet.  The highlights include 7 viewpoints and extremely rare plant species, thought to be found in less than 20 other places worldwide.
