April 28th, 2012 – 7:00am
Are you looking for a challenge for 2012? Ever run 13.1 miles? Well look no further, the 4th Annual Park to Park half marathon should be atop of your list of "must do" races. The date is set for Saturday - April 28, 2012. The word is out about our race and we anticipate even more runners this year. The 2012 race hopes to bring the same excitement as year’s past with chip timing, an improved finish line experience, and more safety on the road. As you train these next several months, keep in mind that the course records were set in 2009 with a time of 1:09:35 by Seth Hutchinson of Charlottesville, Virginia for the men and the women’s mark was set by Melissa Rittenhouse of Harrisonburg, Virginia with a time 1:23:56. Check out some comments from years past:
This was the best organized race I have participated in! The technical shirt is awesome; I love the hat and it's a great medal for a great price! I will definitely run this race again! Beautiful course and I agree with your description of "rolling hills"! What a pleasant surprise!
This is one of my favorite races to run in the area. It's well organized, modestly priced, has a terrific course and is staffed by cheerful volunteers who provided words of encouragement all along the way. I also want to say that I felt completely safe running the course because you had the roads well marked and people directing traffic at all the intersections.
All aspects of this race were great (organization, course, aid stations, swag, and post race food). I plan to make this my number one spring race. |
