Recyling The City of Waynesboro has a voluntary drop off program for recyclable items at our Public Convenience Center located off of Delphine Avenue and 6th Street. The Recycling Program diverts about 26% of residential, commercial & industrial products that would have otherwise gone into the landfill. Recycling can reduce by 75% the amount of trash that residents have to throw away. For your convenience, the Center is now open six days per week. Join our Green Team!!! The City of Waynesboro would like to invite all residents to join us as we GO GREEN. Here is how: All new customers who sign up for our City refuse service will receive a Go Green Waynesboro punch card. Existing customers must request a punch card. Customers will take the punch card to the Recycling Center with their recyclable items and have their card punched. The first time, that new customers visit the Recycling Center to get their card punched, you will be presented with a special “Go Green Kit” which is comprised of a recycling container filled with environmentally friendly products and information. Once your card is punched 10 times, we name you an official Waynesboro Green Team Member. Member’s names will be published on the City of Waynesboro Webpage quarterly to receive recognition. Items Accepted Plastics Grades 1-7 are accepted. No plastic grocery bags allowed. Glass Green, Brown & Clear (food & drink containers only) Newspaper Including slicks & ads, magazines & catalogues Metal Any tin (vegetable, dog food, etc) Aluminum Any aluminum cans, pie tins, siding, etc. Cardboard Corrugated & paper board No wax-coated cardboard allowed No cardboard w/ food debris allowed (pizza boxes) Scrap Paper Computer, art, scratch, construction & school paper and envelopes & junk mail Used Motor Oil Used Antifreeze Dozen sized egg cartons Undamaged will be donated to Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Florescent Lights Recycling Center 300 N.
