Florence Ave Bridge Construction 2020

The City has been working since November 2019 with Burleigh Construction, Inc. and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to complete replacement of the Florence Ave Bridge over the railroad tracks owned by CSX Corporation. The project is proceeding on schedule to be complete by June 1, 2020 and the road opened to traffic shortly thereafter. Please respect the vehicle and pedestrian detours until the road has been officially reopened for both your safety and the safety of the crews working on the site.

Mulberry Run Wetlands

In October, a Case Study for the SLAF grant program was conducted at the Mulberry Run Wetlands by the Choose Clean Water Coalition.
