City Manager
The city manager is the chief administrative officer of the city and is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the City Council. The city manager is directly responsible for the daily operation and administration of the city organization and hires employees to aid in these functions. Additionally, the city serves as fiscal agent for the regional Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, and the Waynesboro city manager provides oversight to its daily operation.
Regional Boards & Commissions
The city manager serves as the city's representative on local regional boards and commissions including, among others, the following:
Temporary street closure requests are approved by the city manager. You should contact the City Manager's Office to request approval for a temporary street closure for special events, such as block parties, weddings, or other special events, or if a street or sidewalk needs to be temporarily blocked for construction work and/or work-related equipment.
Requests for Street Lights
You may contact the City Manager's Office to inquire about placement of street lights in your neighborhood.
