Rosenwald is called a community center, but without community support and involvement, it is simply a center. The community center houses the Department of Parks and Recreation's administrative offices, public meeting rooms, gymnasium, arts and crafts rooms, preschool rooms, dance room, exercise room, and outdoor basketball court and playground. The center is closed on Saturday and Sunday, except for special activities and classes. Operating hours may vary seasonally.
Teen Room and Game Room For ages 12 and older.
Youth Open Gym is available for school-age children between 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. No food or drinks are allowed in the gym.
Adult Open Gym is available for 18+ years and older between 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. No food or drinks are allowed in the gym.
Reserving a Room
Meeting rooms within the Rosenwald Community Center are available for reservation free of charge to community non-profit organizations during normal business hours if those rooms are not scheduled for other activities. For-profit businesses will be charged for use. During times when the building would otherwise be closed, the fee schedule will apply to all organizations and individuals. The exception would be for organizations whose programs are co-sponsored by the Waynesboro Department of Parks and Recreation.
Gym Rental: $20.00/ hr.
Room Rental: $20.00/ hr.
Kitchen: $50 per use
A Request for Use of Facility Form needs to be completed and approved by a Parks and Recreation staff member. The form is due 10 working days prior to the event. Payment is due at the time of the reservation.
