Rosenwald is called a community center, but without community support and involvement, it is simply a center. The community center houses the Department of Parks and Recreation's administrative offices, public meeting rooms, gymnasium, arts and crafts rooms, preschool rooms, dance room, and exercise room. The center is closed on Saturday and Sunday, except for special activities and classes. Operating hours may vary seasonally.
Teen Room and Game Room For ages 12 and older. Open by appointment only (between 10:30am -3:30pm); limit 6 people, masks must be worn the entire time; at least one person in group should be 18 years or older.Everyone must enter building together and leave together.
Open Gym:For Middle-schoolers and older. Open by appointment only (one hour slot between 10:30am -3:30pm), Limit 10 people; masks must be worn whenever not in the gym; at least one person in group should be 18 years or older.Everyone must enter building together and leave together. No food or drinks allowed in gym.
Reserving a Room
Meeting rooms within the Rosenwald Community Center are available for reservation free of charge to community non-profit organizations during normal business hours, if those rooms are not scheduled for other activities. For-profit businesses will be charged for use. During times when the building would otherwise be closed, the fee schedule will apply to all organizations and individuals. The exception would be for organizations whose programs are co-sponsored by the Waynesboro Department of Parks and Recreation. At this time there is a 15 person maximum per classroom.Masks must be worn, and all current COVID protocols followed.
Gym Rental: $20.00/ hr.
Room Rental: $20.00/ hr.
A Request for Use of Facility Form needs to be completed and approved by a Parks and Recreation staff member. The form is due 10 working days proir to the event. Payment is due 5 working days prior to the event.
