Basic Park

Located at 1405 Genicom Drive, off of Hopeman Parkway

Open sunrise to sunset

The western boundary of this 30-acre park is the South River where anglers of all ages may test their skill fishing for bass, bluegill, catfish, and trout. However , from April 1 through June 15 the South River adjacent to Basic Park are considered Youth-Only Stocked Trout Waters. Only youth age 15 and under will be allowed to fish during that time. Adults can assist youth only by baiting the hook, casting, and removing the fish from the hook. Adults may not assist with seting the hook and reeling in the fish. Detailed information is available through this website: https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/trout/youth-only-stocked-trout-program/

In addition to fishing, the park provides a nice setting for picnics and play.
