Piranhas summer swim camp is a 6 week competitive swim clinic run by the Waynesboro Gators year round swim team. Swimmers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. We welcome any swimmer age 4-18 who can swim across the width of the pool safely. Swimmers in beginner groups will focus primarily on learning freestyle, backstroke and dives. More advanced swimmers will work towards mastering the four strokes, learning racing strategies, and perfecting their sprinting capabilities, starts and turns. Mondays will be team building days where we will run occasional intersquad meets, as well as offer fun activities such as tie dye and popsicle parties, turn clinics, etc. Older swimmers may swim long course on these days. Swimmers wishing to participate in the Gators summer classic swim meet June 18-20 may do so with coach’s permission and an additional fee.
Meets with other local teams is still TBD.
Swimmers participating in the program are asked to wear their suit to practice and bring the following: Goggles, hair in cap or pulled back, and a small foam kickboard. We recommend the sporti junior kickboard from swimoutlet.com.
Cost: $65 per swimmer. $5 discount for additional siblings. Cap and Shirt included in fee.
Due to COVID precautions, group sizes will be limited and we expect to fill up fast. If you are uncertain which group to enroll your swimmer, please contact coach Stephanie Neal at firstname.lastname@example.org. Coaches reserve the right to move swimmers to a different group if necessary. We are looking forward to a fun summer in the sun and making lots of new friends! Come join us!
