Starting June 7, 2021: Group Swim Lessons at War Memorial Pool

2-week sessions, 4 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

(8 lessons for 30 minutes)

Participants: $70 per 2-week session

Beginner

These classes are for children who have little previous experience in the water and are not yet comfortable going under the water. We ask that each child bring their own pair of goggles that does not have a nose cover.

Beginner I (ages 5-8) 

9:30 am – 10:00 am

10:05 am – 10:35 am

Skills introduced will be:

  • Building confidence in the water
  • Submerging head under water
  • Prone and back float
  • Beginning kicking technique
  • Treading water

Beginner II (ages 9-12)

10:05 am – 10:35 am

10:40 am – 11:10 am

Skills introduced will be:

  • Building confidence in the water
  • Submerging head under water
  • Prone and back float
  • Prone and back kicking technique
  • Treading water
  • Introduction to front crawl

Intermediate

These classes are for children who are comfortable submerging completely underwater and can tread water unassisted. We ask that each child bring their own pair of goggles that does not have a nose cover.

Intermediate I (ages 5-8)

9:30 am – 10:00 am

  • Building confidence in the water
  • Prone and back kicking technique
  • Front and back crawl
  • Breaststroke kick
  • Introduction to diving (sitting)

Intermediate II (ages 9-12)

10:40 am – 11:10 am

Skills introduced will be:

  • Building confidence in the water
  • Prone and back kicking technique
  • Front and back crawl
  • Breaststroke kick
  • Introduction to diving (sitting and standing)
