All instructional classes meet at Rosenwald  community center, unless stated otherwise.  Preregistration required for all classes, but  participants may start any time.

Square Dancing

  • Tuesdays

Beginning Square Dance Lessons

Learn-by-Doing square dance lessons are starting soon! Instructor/caller will be George Jordan from Staunton, along with assistance from members of the Circle 8 Square Dance Club. Two FREE open house introductory lessons will be held on Tuesday, Sept 16 and Sept 23. Come give it a try. If square dancing is for you, sign up for 15 progressive lessons. Square dancing is great family fun, great body and mind exercise, and a great way to met and make new friends. 

 Hunter Safety

The Waynesboro Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with volunteers for the VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will be conducting a Hunter Education Course. This course is free of charge and is necessary for all first time hunters as well as for those hunters desiring to hunt in most other states.  All hunters who are 12-15 years of age also must take this course before purchasing a hunting license.  Subjects covered are: Archery, Tree-stand Safety, Muzzle-loading & Modern Firearms, as well as others. Gentle Yoga

Join instructor Elle d’Orado to focus on the foundations of Yoga: comfortable postures & conscious breath.  Yoga is good for the mind as well as the body and students of all levels will enjoy this easeful, restorative  practice.  Dress for movement & relaxation; bring water & a yoga mat if you have one.

Fit For Life

Intro to Knitting & Crocheting

If you are a beginner, you can learn the basic stitches for both in one two hour class. Or, if you know the basics and simply need help with a pattern or project, bring it in for some assistance. Participants are welcome to bring their own yarn and needles, but it’s not required, as they will be provided to any students who need them. Instructor: Vickey Lawson

Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop

This free workshop is designed to lower the stress associated with chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis etc. and will complement and enhance your medical professional's recommended treatment plans. Participants will learn a variety of necessary day-to-day management skills needed to maintain and/or increase life’s activities in order to live active and fulfilling lives. Topics include:  goal setting, problem solving, managing fatigue, healthy eating, low impact exercising, communicating effectively with family, friends and your health care team. Stretch and Tone

Tai Chi For Beginners
