Dangerous Dog Registry

In 2006, the Virginia General Assembly enacted legislation of the Virginia Dangerous Dog Registry. Presently there are over 400 dogs listed statewide on the registry. According to the Centers for Disease Control, nearly 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs annually. Of those, approximately 800,000 require medical attention. The CDC reports an average of 12 dog mauling fatalities a year.
