These programs ensure that victims and witnesses of crime receive fair and considerate treatment while participating in the criminal justice system. The program can offer assistance in the following areas:

• Providing information on an individual's role as a witness
• Explaining court procedures
• Escorting witnesses or victims to court
• Providing information on crime-related threats or harassment
• Referring to community service agencies for counseling or other assistance
• Assisting in preparation of a victim compensation form
• Offering information for individuals not receiving their restitution

The program also offers support when victims and witnesses need to talk about their cases.
