Friends of the Library

Annual Dinner

The annual dinner meeting of the Friends of the Waynesboro Public Library will be held Tuesday April 19 at the Waynesboro Country Club. The social hour begins at 6:00 p.m. to be followed by dinner at 6:45.

This year a generous buffet dinner, including three entrees (beef, chicken and pasta), vegetable accompaniments, yeast rolls, coffee, iced tea and dessert will be provided by Country Cupboard Catering. The cost will be $26.00 per person. A cash bar will be available.

Make checks payable to the Friends of the Waynesboro Public Library and send your payment and the number in your party to Mary Kay VanHooser at 331 Compton Rd, Waynesboro, VA 22980. For questions, phone Mrs. VanHooser at 540-943-0871. Reservations and checks must be received by the morning of April 12, 2016. Absolutely no reservations can be accepted after that date and no cancellations can be made after April 12.

A short business meeting for the election of Secretary and Treasurer will follow dinner. Afterwards, our guest speaker, Phil James, historian, author and columnist for the Crozet Gazette, will address the meeting.

Mr. James is the author of the Secrets of the Blue Ridge series.  Don't miss this opportunity to spend a stimulating evening with Mr. James. He will talk about his unlikely path into research, writing and becoming a collector of oral histories from his rural neighbors. Mr. James has a deep reservoir of anecdotes and photographs to draw upon. Copies of his books will be on sale for signing by the author.
