Book Sale Highlights:
About 5,000 nice clean books, about 50% paper backs and 50% hardbacks.
Prices range from 50 cents for bargain books and paper backs to $1.00 - $9.00 for better books and oldies but goodies; and $10.00 - $100.00 for rare and collectible oldies (or about 20-30% estimated market value).
Collectible books called “oldies but goodies” are located on the stage in conference room A. A list of the more important of these books is below.
Responsibilities: FOL will organize the book sale to make it easy to find desired books, the price, and to make payment of final invoice. “Friends” will be available to answer questions and assist you in any way.
Book buyers will observe the golden rule and be considerate of other book buyers, and the FOL who have spent many hours providing the best book sale possible. A few buyers accumulate books in a space and check prices with electronic devices. This activity makes large numbers of books inaccessible to other buyers and clutters precious space. We ask that buyers refrain from such inconsiderate and unsafe activity. The FOL have reviewed market prices and it is our belief that the books are priced well below average market values.
Remember that the purpose of the book sale is a community event to provide funding for the many Waynesboro Public Library programs that benefit the community. The Friends wish to express their appreciation to the many donors and volunteers that support the library.
