Summer Reading Returns on June 2nd.

Saturday, June 2, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Kick off Summer Reading with our annual library con! Cartoonist Paul Merklein starts things off at 10:00 with an all-ages show. At 11:00, show off your geekiest costume in the cosplay contest. At 12:00 head upstairs for magic, old-school video games, cartooning lessons, crafts, a photo booth, and more.
 All ages.

Teen Game Night
Friday, June 8, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Teens are invited to a game night, with different video games and systems, plus a few board games. Snacks will be provided. 
 Ages 12-17

Wildlife Center: Whoooo’s Awake in the Night?
Friday, June 15, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Meet some of Virginia’s nocturnal animals, and learn how they adapt to sleeping during the day and being awake at night. All ages.

Teen Lock-In
Saturday, July 14, 6:00-10:00 p.m.

In the midst of our summer reading program the teens are invited to the library after closing for a lock-in. Join us for pizza, food, crafts, video games and flash light tag in the stacks (then go home and sleep in your own bed). Registration and parental permission required. Ages 12-17.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Thursday, July 19, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Bring your stuffed animal to the library for a pajama party! Leave them overnight for a stuffies-only sleepover, then pick them up the next morning and check the library’s Facebook to see what they were up to while you were at home asleep.


Summer Reading Finale
Saturday, July 28, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
