The new bulk collection program was adoped by City Council in December of 2013.
The current rotating ward collection program is transitioning to a Work Order initiated collection program. Prior to placement of bulk items out for collection, a request will need to be initiated by the customer. Request may be made in person at PW Operations, located at 900 Essex Ave; by calling Refuse Administration at (540) 942-6764 by faxing an Application for Bulk Collection to (540) 942-6769 or by submitting an on line request found to the right under Quick Links. Upon receipt of request, Refuse Administration will clarify request and guidelines as needed, establish pickup location and schedule pickup. Notice of issued Work Order will be sent to customer no less than 14 days prior to scheduled pickup and debris may be placed out no sooner than 7 days prior to noted collection date.
