Nestled snugly at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the community of Waynesboro is sure to earn a special place in your heart. Named in 1797 after Revolutionary War hero Mad Anthony Wayne, this picturesque city has retained the charm of the valley while embracing modern progress.

Waynesboro is also known for its strong sense of family and community. The annual Fall Foliage Festival in early October draws hundreds of artists and craftsmen from across the nation. Those interested in history won't want to miss the annual commemoration of the Civil War Battle of Waynesboro. This 1865 engagement between Generals Jubal Early and Philip Sheridan helped close the book on the Old South.
