Buckingham Branch Railroad (BBRR) Media Release

Drivers in the Waynesboro area should expect some delays throughout September and early October.

Project Details:

The bridge will be closed for a short period of time. However, the majority of work is able to take place with little interruption to traffic or the community. The project is expected to last approximately three weeks.

The bridge was built in 1912 and needs replacement due to age and deterioration. Once construction is complete, the bridge will be rated for all legal loads.

Advice to the Public:

Buckingham Branch Railroad says its primary concern is always safety and wants to remind the public to take their time when driving through work zones.
