[ARCHIVED] Assisted Requested in Search for Wanted Felon

The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting assistance in locating a convicted felon who has a history of firearms, assault and drug charges. Bowie Robert Hoyt is wanted on two probation violations from Waynesboro Circuit Court that are related to his 2012 convictions of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II drug, assault & battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A charge of possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug was dropped at the time.

The charges stem from an incident on May 16, 2012 in the 700 block of Sherwood Ave in which Hoyt stabbed another individual. After the assault, Hoyt was at large for twelve days before he was arrested on May 28, 2012 in Waynesboro. At the time of his arrest, he had a semi-automatic firearm and the drugs in his possession.

Hoyt is a 27 year old white male, 5’06”, 130 lbs. He has a distinguishing feature – Lazy Left Eye. His last known address is Harrisonburg.
