[ARCHIVED] Woman Arrested after Frying Pan Assault

The Waynesboro Police Department has charged an Augusta County woman with a felony after she walloped her boyfriend over the head with a frying pan in a jealous rage. Meredith Alyssa Borges, 23 years old of Crimora, faces a single count of Unlawful Wounding for the April 25th assault which took place at a residence in the 200 block of South Delphine Avenue.

An officer responded to Augusta Health’s Emergency Department at approximately 4:30 PM last Saturday for a report of a Waynesboro man with a head wound. The officer spoke to the 25 year old victim who told him that Borges, who is the mother of his two children, hit him on the back of his head with a frying pan. The two of them were having an argument about him talking to another woman. When he tried to go outside to smoke a cigarette, Borges struck him once with the frying pan rendering the victim unconscious. When he came to, Borges took him to the hospital for treatment of a laceration to the back of his head. After getting him inside the hospital, Borges left. The victim’s wound had to be stapled closed.

Deputies with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office arrested Borges on April 28 at approximately 10:00 AM. She is free on bond.
