The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested two Waynesboro men on unrelated sexual assaults. Both cases involved juveniles who knew their molesters.
Bobby Lorenzo Morton, 31 year old, faces two felonies stemming from a Friday night incident at a residence in the 1000 block of Bridge Avenue. On May 29 at approximately 11:30 PM, officers responded to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they spoke with a resident who indicated Morton had just fondled her teenage daughter. The victim and Morton are relatives. As officers were interviewing the mother and the victim nearby, Morton left the residence and stole a vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, belonging to the victim’s mother. He then fled the scene. Officers were able to locate the vehicle with Morton sleeping inside at approximately 10:00 AM on May 30 near the victim’s residence. They arrested him for Aggravated Sexual Battery and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
David Lee White, 31 years old, faces a single felony for Forcible Sodomy stemming from a sexual assault of a six year old boy last fall. In early May of 2015, the victim’s mother reported to the Police Department that her son told her White, who was a family friend at the time, molested him in October 2014. According to his mother, the victim had recently attended the “Hugs & Kisses” presentation by Theatre IV at his school. (A link to the program is provided.) This prompted the boy to report what White had done to him. The assault happened at the victim’s residence which is in the Tree Streets neighborhood of the city. The investigation culminated in White’s arrest at 9:00 AM on June 1 at his residence on South Winchester Avenue.
Both White and Morton are being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
