Woodson

The Waynesboro Police Department has charged a 40 year old Waynesboro man and a 31 year old Staunton woman after a tense incident on Monday June 1, 2015. At approximately 11:26 am on June 1, 2015 Officers responded to the 1600 block of New Hope Road for a report of an altercation. When police arrived, they encountered 40 year old Jeremiah Woodson of Waynesboro and 31 year old Sandi Crawford of Staunton, VA. During the course of investigating the disturbance officers learned that Woodson was wanted by Augusta County on a Circuit Court Capias for a probation violation. While two of the Officers were attempting to take Woodson into custody, he bolted from the officers and produced a loaded 9mm Gabilondoy Llama handgun from his backpack. Officers reacted quickly and were able to utilize a Taser to take Woodson into custody without further incident.

Jeremiah Woodson was arrested for:

• Violation of 18.2-57; Felony Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (x2)
• Violation of 18.2-308.2; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Sandi Crawford was arrested for:
• 18.2-460; Misdemeanor Obstruction of Justice
