The Waynesboro Police Department charged a Staunton man for repeatedly choking and assaulting his girlfriend while they were at work Wednesday night. Quentin Wendell Woodson, 47 years old, is facing a felony Strangulation charge and a misdemeanor Assault & Battery of a Family or Household Member charge after continuous attacks on his live-in girlfriend at the Ntelos office complex, 1154 Shenandoah Village Drive, where they both work on the night cleaning crew.

Just after 2:00 PM on June 18, an officer responded to Augusta Health Emergency Department to speak with the victim, a 50 year old Staunton woman, who was already speaking with a Staunton Police Officer. She told the officers that Woodson and she went to work Wednesday night. He took her cellphone from her and began to hit her over and over again supposedly because he was angry that she left their Staunton home to visit family in Waynesboro without his permission. The assaults took place in various parts of the building over several hours. At one point, Woodson threw a bucket at the victim which struck her in the face. He would also choke her to the point of lightheadedness and she would be left feeling dizzy.

After they left work, Woodson made the victim travel back to Staunton where the assaults continued. The victim’s family went by the residence Thursday morning and was able to get Woodson to let her come with them. They took her to Augusta Health.

Officers with the Staunton Police Department arrested Woodson at his residence Thursday evening on the Waynesboro charges and a Staunton charge of Assault & Battery of Family or Household Member. He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
