Update – September 16, 2015

Qualeek O’Dale McCarthy is in custody. Members of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team and patrol deputies arrested McCarthy without incident in a room at Motel 6, 96 Baker Lane, Staunton, at approximately 2:00 PM on September 15.

An anonymous tipster notified Crime Stoppers with McCarthy’s whereabouts. He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

Last known address: Waynesboro

Wanted on three felony charges –

• Distribution of Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Schedule I or II Drug
• Capias/Failure to Appear

The drug and firearms charges stem from the May 26 SWAT raid on 200 Dogwood Street.

Previous Release – May 28, 2015
The Waynesboro Police Department arrested two Waynesboro men after a SWAT raid Tuesday night at an apparent drug flophouse. As part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, members of the Department’s SWAT Team and Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at 200 Dogwood Street on May 26 at 10:30 PM. Inside the residence, the officers detained seven adults. Two of them, Frederick Odale McCarthy, 39 years old, and Dakota Anthony Campbell, 18 years old, were arrested. Also present was Qualeek O’Dale McCarthy. Several controlled substances including, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills and a firearm were recovered.

The Special Operations Division began an investigation after receiving multiple complaints from neighbors that said the house appeared to be a hang-out for drug users. Firearms and drug distribution charges are pending against another person who was present at the scene.

McCarthy was wanted from Rockingham County and the city of Richmond on the following charges:

• Two counts of probation violations (Rockingham County)
• Failure to Pay Child Support (Richmond).

Several of the seized narcotics will be sent to the Division of Forensic Science for lab analysis. Charges are pending on Qualeek O’Dale McCarthy.

Campbell faces one felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine stemming from the raid.
Campbell is free on bond. Fred McCarthy is being held pending transport.
