[ARCHIVED] Social Media Alert - Help Needed to Catch Shoplifter

Update – The suspect in the January 19th shoplifting case from Kmart has been identified. An attentive tipster contacted the Police Department and gave information that led officers to Georgina Delores Shaffer, 33 years old, of Staunton. She is currently incarcerated at Middle River Regional Jail on other charges.

She has been charged with grand larceny, a felony, in the Kmart incident.

The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to help identify a felony shoplifter who stole a television and Blu-ray player from a Waynesboro store earlier this month. On Tuesday, January 19, the suspect described as a B/F, entered Kmart, 2712 West Main Street, with thievery on her mind. She went to the electronics section of the store and used a tool to remove a Samsung television and a Panasonic Blu-ray player. She then put them in a cart and left the store with them without paying. The total cost of the pilfered goods was approximately $530.00.

The suspect is further described:

Approx. 5’6”
Approx. 200 lbs.

If anyone has information as to the identity of this individual, please call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 to speak with Officer Mark Kearney or call Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-2017. Anyone who gives information that leads to an arrest of the offender can receive a cash reward.
