4. Permanent and Temporary water/sewer Utility Kills for Demolition Permits.

   A permanent kill disables the service so it can no longer be used again. A temporary kill caps off the services during demolition and allows for use of the service at a later date for new construction. For any questions please call Public Works Administration at 540-942-6624 (Option 6).

    Upload a signed letter by the owner of the property requesting a permanent or temporary kill. Please include owner's name contact phone number/email, address of kill, and whether it is a temporary or permanent kill. Documents can also be placed in the drop box at Public Works Administration located at 941 Fir Street.

18. AT THIS TIME THE CITY OF WAYNESBORO IS NOT PERFORMING TEMPORARY WATER/SEWER SERVICE KILLS. (PERMANENT KILLS ARE STILL BEING PERFORMED)  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOMEOWNER TO HIRE A CONTRACTOR TO PERFORM THE TEMPORARY KILL. FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PERFORM THE KILL, YOUR CONTRACTOR MUST CONTACT THE FIELD ENGINEER AT 540-241-2369 PRIOR TO START OF THE JOB. THE FIELD ENGINEER MUST INSPECT AND APPROVE THE KILL IN ORDER FOR YOUR DEMOLITION PERMIT TO BE RELEASED BY BUILDING AND ZONING.
