Ward A City Council Vacancy

The Waynesboro City Council is seeking candidates to fill the unexpired term of Ward A Councilwoman, Elzena Anderson.  Ms. Anderson will end her term on February 29.  The unexpired term would run through June 30th.  A qualified candidate must be eligible to vote in the City and reside in Ward A.  A permanent replacement for Ms. Anderson’s seat will, presumably, be determined in the May 5th City Council election.

The next several months are especially busy for Council as the body must consider and adopt a budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  The Council hopes to appoint a candidate with the enthusiasm for and commitment to the immediate task at hand.  The Council will consider especially helpful a demonstrated record of civic engagement and service to the community.

Interested candidates should complete the attached application and encouraged to also include a letter of interest and resume of experience to Julia Bortle, Clerk of Council, by email, fax 540-942-6671, or by mail to City of Waynesboro, Suite 208, 503 West Main Street by 2:00 PM, February 28, 2020.
